Times Union Article & Bridge Committee Meeting

Reporter Roger Hannigan Gilson of the Times Union published an article today about our historic bridge, providing an excellent summary of current problems with the bridge and recent events surrounding the controversial initial proposal, including comments from local residents. The article also details the last 44 years of structural problems and restoration efforts.

While this initial proposal is considered, historic oversight is forthcoming:

The state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation “will need to be engaged in the environmental review process under state and federal historic preservation acts,” according to a spokesman from the office.
